Jehovah’s Witnesses have very strict dating rules. The more zealous a Jehovah’s Witness is, the more serious they are about the dating rules and proper etiquette. Casual dating for example, is not ok. The purpose of dating is marriage. Jehovah’s Witnesses who date are ready, willing, and able to marry someone. They are seriously looking for a mate. Before they start dating, they must be in a position to get married, – spiritually, physically, emotionally, and financially. An exception might be if there is an adult chaperone or perhaps double dating, but even this would be looked down upon, because someone who is not financially stable and ready to get married should not be dating. If they’re not ready for marriage, they shouldn’t be dating. Jehovah’s Witnesses obey the Apostle Paul who said, ‘Do not be yoked together with unbelievers.

Christian dating Non-Christian question?

I posted some clarifications in the comments which seemed to stem the flow of hostility! Not long after this, I was contacted by another young woman I know, who told me how thankful she was to her pastor for warning her about a similar relationship. I asked her if she would write out her testimony about this experience, and I am so grateful that she agreed.

I also hope it will encourage pastors to lovingly warn their straying sheep. I had always feared marrying an unbeliever as it is clear from scripture to be wrong — I had seen a number of friends do this and their spiritual life stalled.

A True Account of How a Christian College is an Abuser Factory. Guest Post ♦ July 22, ♦ 35 Comments. The following account is a real story from one of our readers. We considered publishing it in two parts but decided it is best to keep it together for full impact.

March 12, Though not a Biblical doctrine or salvation issue, we as the leaders of our church decided to expect our members to only date committed Christians. A woman who was part of our church some years ago returned recently, and she brought her boyfriend with her. She studied the Bible with some women in the church, and her boyfriend studied with some of our men. She finished her studies and was restored to our fellowship, but he stopped studying and has not made the decision to live as a disciple of Christ, and they broke up.

Our decision was to let her know that, while she could continue to attend, she would no longer be considered a member, and that this would be conveyed to the appropriate ministries. Some members thought our decision was unfair. Some questioned our biblical basis. I know some scriptures about church discipline Mt Can you help us with some insights? As you say, each leadership group must make its own decisions. I guess I feel about someone who is infatuated with a non-Christian the same as I feel about a brother who is grossly overweight and a glutton; someone who spends all his time watching TV; or someone who never has personal devotional times.

In a sense, they all need discipline; but what is the best approach in each situation?

Introduction

Do you know any solid Christian girls who are becoming seriously interested in a non-Christian guy? Does this surprise you or shock you in any way? Idealism long gone, I now see Christian girls dating non-Christian guys as quite a possibility and in fact perhaps a growing trend. In our last two posts we discussed how Christian dating has elevated this idea of abstinence to such a level, making the v-card technical as it may be a highly prized possession.

Purpose The purpose of this web site is to set out all of the Christian writings that are believed to have been written in the first and second centuries, as well as a few selected from the early third.

Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? Then they will be My people, and I shall be their God. And they will be My people, and I will be their God. Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

Knowledge makes arrogant, but love edifies. That a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything? What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take away the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? May it never be! Or do you not know that the one who joins himself to a prostitute is one body with her?

I have provided links to English translations for all of these documents.

5-minute enlightenment for those in a hurry “Testimonium Flavianum” “Now, there was about this time, Jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man, for he was a doer of wonderful works, a teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure.

By Wayne Jackson Is it wrong for a Christian to marry outside the faith? If so, how does he or she repent? This is a multifaceted question and it would not do it justice to answer it hastily. A preliminary foundation must be laid. We would offer the following thoughts for careful study. Marriage, A Sacred Relationship Designed By God First of all, we must observe that marriage is a sacred relationship which was initiated by the Creator for the benefit of humanity as a whole Gen.

Any two eligible people male and female, unfettered by a previous marital tie may enter into this divine relationship with the assurance that the union is recognized by God. This is a universal circumstance, and has been since the beginning of time though a lower marriage standard was tolerated in the pre-Christian ages [cf. Paul acknowledged that some of the Corinthian saints had been guilty of the sin of adultery prior to the time of their conversion 1 Cor.

Since adultery is the violation of a marriage covenant, this clearly implies that these folks were married — even during their pagan days. The New Testament nowhere suggests, even remotely, that marriage pertains to Christians only cf.

Lee Grady Have you prayerfully considered these characteristics when choosing a potential marriage partner? In response I received numerous requests to share similar guidelines for men who are looking for wives. These are the women I tell my spiritual sons to avoid: Christians should not marry unbelievers. Apart from your decision to follow Christ, marriage is the single most important decision you will ever make.

As has been the claim by some for decades and centuries In the History Channel video below, an Arab-Egyptian archaeologist inside the pyramid of King Teti (c. BCE), where early inscriptions of the ancient Egyptian sacred writings called the Pyramid .

It just won’t work, says Kathy Keller, wife of author and pastor Tim Keller. The Kellers have dealt often with relationships between Christians and non-Christians. But rather than lecture couples on all the biblical reasons why marriage would be unwise, Mrs Keller said it would be easier to let those already married to unbelievers do the talking. Only ten minutes of conversation — one minute if the person is really succinct — would be necessary,” Keller wrote recently on her blog.

She said that you can quote Scripture like 2 Corinthians 6: Keller defined being “unequally yoked” as also including “genuine, warm Christians who want to marry an in-name-only Christian, or someone very, very far behind them in Christian experience and growth”. In her post, she outlined three outcomes for Christians who marry non-believers, and none of them lead to a happy ending. The first is, that in order to be in-tune with one’s spouse, the Christian in the marriage “will have to push Christ to the margins of his or her life,” she said.

This will affect things like a devotional life, tithing, raising children and fellowship with other believers. Another outcome can include the non-Christian partner being marginalised instead, if the believer in the marriage ends up holding on to a healthy Christian life.
